About Westminster

Home to Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben, Westminster is one of the most recognizable areas in London. But there’s a thriving business culture among these iconic landmarks as well. British Petroleum, AstraZeneca, the BBC, and a range of other global giants all have headquarters in this Thames-side district.

The area’s economic landscape continues to evolve, however. The City of Westminster maintains eight business improvement districts and specially defined commercial areas that aim to attract and support entrepreneurs from all fields. Today, there are plenty of office-space options for businesses of all sizes, ranging from flexible coworking models to fully serviced offices.

Its central location makes Westminster simple to access, too. The local Westminster underground station serves the Jubilee, Circle, and District lines — both the Circle and the District lines get you to the City of London in about 10 minutes. You can also catch the Bakerloo and Northern lines at nearby Charing Cross and the Victoria line at Victoria station.

Why Westminster is a great place for running a business:

  • Its central location can’t be beaten, with easy access to numerous underground lines and railway stations.
  • There’s a healthy balance of things to do nearby, whether you want to spend your off hours at Soho’s art galleries, the West End’s theatres, the Royal Parks, or world-class eateries.
  • There’s a lot of local support for startup businesses through the Westminster Business Unit and Westminster Council.
