The Piccadilly line is one of the twelve London Underground lines. It begins in Cockfosters and runs from north to west, with a split at Acton Town. One section goes to Uxbridge, while the other takes travelers to Heathrow Airport.

Connecting Finsbury Park to Hammersmith, the first section of the Piccadilly line opened in 1906. The 1930s saw subsequent extensions to Cockfosters and Uxbridge. The extension to Heathrow Airport occurred in several stages during the mid-1970s. The last extensions to Terminals 4 and 5 took place in 1986 and 2008.
